How is quota counted

Each Syncplicity account includes a storage quota. This quota sets how much storage you are able to store within your Syncplicity account. For Personal Edition accounts, the quota is counted as the sum of all of your files across all folders you have backed up or synchronized regardless of how many computers are synchronizing with your account. For example, if you have two computers and you are backing up one folder on one machine with 5GB of data and syncing another folder with 10GB of data, your total storage quota usage is 15GB.

For Business Edition accounts with pooled storage, the quota is counted as the sum of all files across all folders backed up and synchronized within the organization. Files shared across multiple users only count once. For example, if there are 100 users within your company all sharing a corporate share folder with 10GB of data, your total storage quota used by this folder is 10GB. If, in addition, 50 of these users each back up their personal desktops and they have 1GB of data each, the total storage quota used by these backups is 50GB.

Pooled storage for Business Edition also means that users are not restricted in their storage quota but can use unused amounts from other users. For example, a Business Edition account with a 50GB pooled storage quota with three users could have one user using 45GB of storage while the other two are using 2.5GB of storage each to total 50GB.

As part of your Syncplicity account, the first 30 days of past file versions and deleted files are retained for free and do not count against your storage quota. Personal Edition accounts store 30 days of previous versions so previous versions never count against quota. Business Edition users have access to unlimited file revisions and deleted files as long as desired. Previous versions and deleted files newer than 30 days are kept free of charge. Previous versions and deleted files older than 30 days count against quota.
